Casey, John. A Sequel to the First Six Books of the Elements of Euclid, Containing an Easy Introduction to Modern Geometry with Numerous Examples, 5th ed., rev. enl. Dublin: Hodges, Figgis, and Co., 1888. 251 p. According to Johnson, a useful supplementary chapter appearing in the 5th ed. was omitted from the 6th, making the 5th ed. the most interesting. It is a classic almost on a par with Johnson.

Coolidge, Julian Lowell.
A Treatise on the Geometry of the Circle and Sphere.
New York: Chelsea, 1971. 602 p. Fact-filled book, despite the author's evident arrogance as illustrated by the following footnotes. ``See [Casey's] greatly overrated Sequal to Euclid, London 1881, p. 101. The ingenious writer makes two characteristic mistakes.'' (p. 37). ``Casey, Analytic Geometry of the Point, Line, Circle, and Conic Sections, Dublin 13, a brilliant but untrustworthy book'' (p. 114). $39.
